My daughters were 7 and 12 years old when we took a family vacation to Mexico. After lots of fun swimming, zip-lining, and spending time on the beach, we visited a shelter for girls to deliver some basic supplies that they had requested. We were surprised by the cake for my daughter’s birthday and got to spend some time baking and making jewelry with them. We truly enjoyed the special moments and hoped that we had made their day a little brighter. When it was time to leave, a quick stop in the restroom revealed 12 toothbrushes lined up on the wall in a tight space with one sink and a small shower stall and my daughter asked, “Do all these girls share this one small bathroom?” The impact of that realization at age 7 is still with my daughter today…Some things you just have to feel for yourself!
Saying thank you is just not enough for making my birthday celebration a trip of a lifetime. I loved every minute of it. I don’t know how to begin or end when people ask me how the trip was, the sightseeing, the exotic location, the lavish touches, the unique experiences, the laughter, the surprises every hour, the touching moments and the wonderful energy. Nina, you deserve all the praises, your attention to detail and perfection shone through and you exposed us to experiences that touched our hearts and senses.

There was nothing more gratifying on my recent trip to Turks and Caicos then spending a half-day painting a new science classroom for the local elementary school…. It gave me a new appreciation for what we take for granted and made an impact in the lives of some amazing kids.
